Star Clippers adds Greek Island of Milos to ancillary programme
Star Flyer - which has the capacity to hold 166 guests - departs Athens on 1st July 2023 for a 7-night Northern Cyclades sailing, visiting the Turkish port of Kusadasi before traversing the Greek Islands of Patmos, Amorgos, Mykonos and Spetses. Upon disembarkation, a local ferry will transport guests to Milos for a 4-night stay at White Coast Pool Suites. The hotel is recognised as one of the ‘Small Luxury Hotels of the World’ and all rooms feature a private infinity pool. Prices for the 7-night Greek Islands sailing on a full-board basis, return flights from London and a 4-night stay on Milos with breakfast included start from £5179pp.
Milos, a volcanic island just 21km in length, boasts more than forty tranquil beaches and sits in the southernmost part of the Cyclades Islands complex. Known for its majestic ambience and laid-back atmosphere, Milos perfectly enhances a tall-ship sailing holiday due to its established tourist infrastructure yet lower concentration of visitors compared to other islands. Most hotels and business are smaller and family-owned, thus being a perfect accompaniment to a Star Clippers holiday.
Fay McCormack, General Manager of the UK GSA, says, ‘as a smaller, family-run cruise line that offers the authentic sailing experience, we want our guests to experience destinations that complement Star Clippers’ character and ethos. The journeys throughout this trip, from the authenticity of a tall ship to the local ferry, allows guests to full immerse themselves in the local culture and lifestyle and connect with the destination around them. The joy of slowing down can truly enrich and enhance the holiday experience and Milos is the perfect addition to our programme.’
